I really enjoyed it. It's far too long since I've been at the theatre, and I shall make an effort to go more often.

A bucketful of melodrama, some wonderful humour, a depiction of Edinburgh's "murky past". Some scenes near the end were rather strained, less things coming together than the urgent need for a conclusion, but perhaps that is inevitable.

Speechifying distracted from clichéd characters, and was highly amusing to boot.
